Idemitsu Australia has been operating in Australia since 1978 as a subsidiary of Japanese company Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd.

For more than 45 years we have proudly produced resources that have supported local communities, contributed to economic growth and assisted our customers in achieving their goals.

Proud of our long coal mining history and commitment to contributing to regional economies through Boggabri Coal Mine and Muswellbrook Coal Company, which ceased active mining in 2022, we continue to meet global energy demands through supply of our high quality metallurgical coal for steel making as we actively diversify and decarbonise our energy portfolio to pursue a more sustainable resource future.

Deeply committed to sustainability and innovation we are proud to invest in sustainable energy development and are currently exploring the diverse natural resources of sunlight, water and biofuels to assess renewable energy development.

In Australia, we aim to enhance our corporate value while remaining a sustainable company and observing comprehensive environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities.
