The Republic of Uzbekistan

The delegation of Uzbekistan consists of representatives from The Administration of President, The Cabinet of Ministers, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade,
The State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources, "Navoi MMC" JSC,
“Almalyk MMC” JSC and “Navoiyuran” SE.

The Government of Uzbekistan wishes to see the mining sector make a more fulsome contribution to the economy and public finances, and has identified it as a priority area of focus for reform efforts. To achieve these objectives, the Government has committed to making significant changes to both the structure and governance of both the sector and its main state-owned participants.

The State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources (Goskomgeology) – regulative government body that provides state policy in the field of geological study and use of mineral resources, collection and systematization of geological information. 
The Committee conducts geological exploration, confirms resources of the deposits, as well as calls for tenders to attract investment.

“Almalyk MMC” JSC - the only copper producer in Uzbekistan with processing ore 
40 million tons per year in which, the production of 148,500-ton copper cathodes per year. The company plans to increase processing ore and copper cathode production (100 million tons and 297,000-tons, respectively) by 2026. JSC “Almalyk MMC” also produces refined copper, metallic zinc, molybdenum, lead concentrates and other products.

"Navoi MMC" JSC – one of the ten leading world companies producing gold which has mastered the full production cycle from geological exploration of reserves in the subsoil, mining and processing of ore to obtaining finished products. The mark “999.9” on the gold bars of the company has become the brand of Uzbekistan. In 2021 company processed 87.8 million tons of ore and produced around 83 ton (2.66 million ounces) of gold.

“Navoiyuran” SE – company is involved in the development of 18 uranium deposits in Uzbekistan and it is planned to develop 4 more deposits in 2022-2026 years. Enterprise is a member of the IAEA World Nuclear Association, currently supplies the finished product in the form of uranium oxide to Canada, Japan, Korea and China.

The mining sector is one of the Uzbekistan’s most important and strategic industries,
with the country being among the world's top ten leaders by reserves and resources of some of the most important types of mineral resources, such as gold (5th place), uranium (12th place), copper (8th place), potassium salts (4th place), phosphorites and kaolin.
