MineHub signs MoU with German digital passport developer

  • 5 March 2026

Toronto-listed MineHub Technologies’ CEO Andrea Aranguren says a partnership with a Berlin-based digital passport specialist can help its growing user network get ahead of the critical and battery material traceability regulation curve.

MineHub recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Spider Labs GmbH, aka Minespider, “a leading global traceability platform for mining and raw materials” and participant in an ESG compliance market that has been projected to be worth more than US$65 billion by next year.

“By expanding MineHub’s suite of tools to include Minespider’s digital product passports and digital battery passports, already validated at scale through the world’s largest traceability initiatives, we’re enabling industries to meet compliance mandates and adapt to market volatility with greater precision by enhanced visibility and trust across supply chains,” Aranguren said.

“This isn’t just about keeping pace with regulations; it’s about advancing resilience, where transparency fosters competitive advantage and long-term value.

“This partnership is expected to play a role in supporting the industry’s growing need for transparent and sustainable supply chain practices.”

Minespider’s blockchain-based platform is said to track the origin, carbon footprint and sustainability metrics of materials. Aranguren said it could be joined seamlessly into MineHub’s end-to-end digital platform. The German company had also achieved commercial traction in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia through sales to companies such as Tata Elxsi, Renault and large tin refiner Minsur.

“The raw materials sector is in urgent need of digitalisation and by collaborating to unite our strengths and suite of innovative tools we are positioned to lead this transformation and drive change across the industry,” Minespider CEO Nathan Williams said.

He said Minespider served as technology lead for EU-funded projects worth more than €32 million, including BATRAW (battery material traceability),Recirculate (circular supply chains) and RETURN (recycling innovation).

MineHub says this gives it pre-validated DPP/DBP frameworks to streamline compliance for automakers and miners under the EU's 2027 Battery Passport deadline.

MineHub has a current market capitalisation around C$90 million.
